Female College Coaches Title lX
In Mrs. Barcomb's she talked about female college coaches. In the video she showed in her presentation, female coaches and researchers began to talk about the Equal Rights Amendment. The ERA is characterized as equal treatment for women. I enjoyed that they put this into the beginning of the video to say that this amendment still hasn't been ratified and that it needs to be. I also enjoyed this part because I wrote my thesis on the ERA. In another part of the video a women said "people hire people that look like them, and that's the problem." I couldn't agree more with this statement. The people in hiring positions 9/10 times will hire a man, and will barely give a woman a chance. The video also mentioned that many women's sports have men coaches and having a women coach for them would be a better idea, which I also agree with. A statistic in the video was given that in 1972 90% of women head coaches were women and today in the NCAA there is around 40%. Once again I believe that a women should be the head coach of a women's team. All in all, I think women should be the head coaches of other women because they have been in their shoes and understand the game. more than men because men and women sports are every different even under the same type of sport.
